Refunds
If it doesn't work, you get your money back
No forms to chase and no conditions buried in a paragraph. Here is the whole process.
Option 1
Ask us
Email us and we refund the payment through Stripe, back to the card you paid with.
Option 2
Go through Stripe
You don't have to go through us at all. Because Stripe processes the payment, you can raise a dispute directly with Stripe or your bank using the entry on your card statement. Stripe decides it, not us.

The policy, written out
What you are buying
Coursera Plus: 1 Year: 12 Months of Coursera Plus access, activated on your own Coursera account. The price is €45, charged once. The price shown is the total charged, no VAT, fees or extras are added at payment.
When we refund
If your access is not delivered as described, it doesn't arrive, it doesn't work, or it isn't what this site said it was, we refund you. You do not have to prove anything beyond telling us what went wrong.
Access is activated within 24 hours of payment. If that passes and nothing has happened, that alone is grounds for a refund.
How the money comes back
Refunds are issued through Stripe to the original payment method. Stripe's own processing time applies once the refund is issued, typically a few business days, depending on your bank. We don't hold funds and we don't issue credit or vouchers instead of money.
If you'd rather not deal with us
Raise a dispute with Stripe or your card issuer. That route exists specifically so you are not dependent on the seller's goodwill, and we won't contest a dispute where access was not delivered as described.
How long it takes
We action a refund request the same working day we read it. Stripe then returns the money to the original card, which typically lands in five to ten business days depending on your bank. That second part is Stripe's timetable and your bank's, not ours, and we cannot speed it up.
Partial refunds
If access worked for part of the term and then failed through no fault of yours, tell us what happened. We would rather refund a fair proportion than argue about it. There is no formula published here because the honest answer depends on when it failed and why, and inventing a formula would just be something to hide behind.
If you paid twice
Duplicate payments are refunded in full, immediately, without any discussion about whether the access worked. Send us both Stripe receipts and we will match them up.
What we can't refund
Three things, stated plainly rather than buried:
- Access that was delivered and used for the full term. The service was provided, so a change of mind at the end of the year is not a refund case.
- Access lost because a Coursera account was shared, sold, or suspended for breachingCoursera's own terms. The access was not the problem in that situation.
- Courses you did not get round to taking. A subscription you did not open is not a failure of delivery, and we would be misleading you if we implied otherwise.
Your statutory rights come first
Nothing on this page reduces the rights you have by law, including the consumer right of withdrawal where it applies. Where this policy and your statutory rights disagree, your statutory rights win. Read the statutory terms.
Why this page is short on conditions
A long refund policy usually exists to make refunds hard. Ours is short because the product is simple: either the access arrived and works, or it did not. If it did not, you get your money back, and you have a route through Stripe that does not depend on us cooperating.
No account needed: a short form, then secure payment via Stripe. Access within 24 hours.
